The Gion Area in Kyoto
Although no real Geisha girls seen. There were a lot of pretty ladies and girls in traditional clothing.
Hostel living
This Hostel is actually really nice with great social room and location. However the rooms look a little like custody at St Aldates, don't you think?
Typical loo in Japan
This is for Ben and Toby. A picture of a loo with buttons on the side to clean your bottom.
Fitty the geek continued
Fitty inside the Kyoto Train station, which has 11 floors of shops and restaurants. She made us go there everyday....
....
and when you are ready to order, you push the buttons on these vending machines.
Plastic food outside restaurants
So this is what a typical meal looks like. Each restaurant displays everything in plastic, very odd.
Sian and Fitty on a bike ride
We went around Kyoto on our bikes, breaking the law cycling on the pavements. Along the river where all the university students practicing dance and sports.

Entertainment centre in Osaka
We treated ourselves to an afternoon of baseball pitching on the 11th floor, virtual ping pong and after the sore arms, Karaoke oh yes karaoke, which Fitty absolutely loved.
Fitty is a GEEK for trains
Fitty is loving the trains.
Fitty quoting.... They are amazing. they are cleaned by a team of women in pink uniform before the journey, they are like an airplane inside and when the conductor leaves a carriage he bows. They go up to 300kmph, and finally the train stations are awesome. They have a shopping mall on every platform and everything is so clean. Shame on the UK

Takayama Festival
This festival happens twice a year, where they have a procession through the streets, with these elaborate carts?? there were thousands of Japanese tourists. Was great to see the carts they were very detailed in decoration. The views of the mountains were spectacular. Very pretty place.
Atomic Bomb Site, Hiroshima
We visited Hiroshima Atomic Bomb site, which was quite depressing but also interesting. Hiroshima itself was good fun. There was a lot of seedy bars at nigh time, but we managed to avoid an awkward situation. High light here, we found an indian curry house so no Miso soup for us PHEW.

Arrived in Japan
So we arrived in Japan around 9 in the morning there time. Flight was fine apart from the fact Fitty was sat next to an old Japenese guy who kept eating dried fishy stuff and burping we both were not very impressed. We arrived at hostel had to wait for them to clean, room is a good size can almost fit in a bunk bed in haha. Had our first meal last night yummy, but we can tell it's going to be expensive :/. We have had a little look round the area, so far enjoying our surroundings, it's very cool that we are here now and loving the buildings and preety lights. Today going on bikes to take a better look :D
